Principal's Corner

Welcome to Alconbury Elementary School home of Spike the Little Dragon!  AES is a wonderful little school that provides a high-quality education to pre-kindergarten to fifth grade students.  AES is beautifully nestled in the countryside on RAF Alconbury.  Our school offers a plethora of services to our students such as special education, Strategic Literacy Intervention, Strategic Math Instruction, Advanced Academic Programs for Students, English Speakers of Other Languages, and counseling to meet the unique needs of all of our students.  We provide enriching special classes for our little dragons in PE, Art, Music, Host Nation, and STEAM.  We have an extensive library that serves the wide ages and interests of our students.

You can count on an excellent educational experience for your child at AES.  We pride ourselves on being student centered with high academic expectations for all of our students.  At AES we differentiate and challenge our students to help them achieve to their highest potential. We also ensure that we educate and care for the whole child by addressing their social/emotional well-being through problem solving and modeling of positive behavioral traits.  Strong communication and partnership between our school and stakeholders is very important to us.

AES has a strong community feel that you will notice as you arrive in the morning with lots of parents present as their children play on the playground.  This is also evident as we dismiss our students in the afternoon.  We have a vibrant Parent Teacher Association (PTA) that sponsors many events for our students and community.  I encourage you to join and be come part of their volunteer pool.

Whether you are already an AES Little Dragon or will be one upon your arrival, the staff and I are excited that you are part of our school!

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month - a time to recognize the importance of communication and to honor the professionals who make it possible for so many students to find their voice. Across the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools, Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a vital role in supporting student success, regardless of location, language, or need. Though separated by oceans and time zones, DoDEA SLPs have found a powerful way to stay connected and collaborate through a Microsoft TEAMS group that spans the globe.
